“España ni está ni se la espera en la revolución tecnológica”

If there is one thing we learned from the pandemic, is that technology is not just an option, it’s a necessity. And yet, according to some recent reports, Spain is falling behind in the technological revolution. But what can be done to change this?

First and foremost, it’s crucial for both the government and businesses to invest in new technologies. Many companies, especially SMEs, may be hesitant to invest in new technologies due to the perceived cost. However, the benefits of improving productivity, efficiency and competitiveness with these tools cannot be understated.

Another key factor is education. In order to thrive in the technological age, Spain must produce a highly skilled workforce that can adapt quickly to new advancements. This means encouraging and investing in STEM education, as well as upskilling current employees.

Finally, it’s important to embrace innovation and support entrepreneurship. This means reducing bureaucratic barriers for startups and encouraging investment in local tech companies. By doing so, it will not only strengthen the technology sector, but also boost the overall economy.

While Spain may be falling behind in the technological race, there is still hope. With the right investments and policies, Spain can catch up and even lead the way in the digital age. The opportunities are there, but it’s up to Spain to seize them.
