Peru's Central crowned the Best Restaurant in South America | Noticias

Lima-based Central —owned by Peruvian cooks Pia Leon and Virgilio Martinez— has been named the Finest Restaurant in South America, in keeping with The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 rating.

As well as, Central is ranked fourth on The World’s 50 Finest Eating places record, whereas Maido, —one other Peruvian restaurant— holds the seventh place on stated record.

In accordance with The World’s 50 Finest Eating places, Central’s plates are groaning with unbelievable biodiversity, and the restaurant options Peruvian heritage plated to perfection.

“Chefs Virgilio Martinez and Pia Leon’s flagship restaurant, Central, is an ode to Peru in all forms,” it acknowledged.

“While the menu represents Peruvian ecosystems at their best, the team at Central focuses strongly on sustainability. Recycling, composting, and closing the loop on waste ingredients all come second nature,” it remarked.

However, The World’s 50 Finest Eating places highlighted the fusion of the chef’s Peruvian and Japanese backgrounds at Maido —a restaurant helmed by Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura.

“Peru and Japan come head-to-head to create an explosion of fantastic flavor,” reads its description.
