Agriculture contributes to solely about 2 % of the Gross
home product (GDP), reflecting the predominance of the
petroleum trade. The agricultural land covers about 284 000
hectares, about 10 % of the entire nation space. Of those,
about 180 000 hectares are used for the cultivation of staple meals
corresponding to cassava, candy potatoes, plantains, groundnuts and
bananas, and the remainder of the world is planted with everlasting crops
and money crops (cocoa, espresso, coconut and fruit bushes). Different
staple meals are rooster meat, wheat flour and rice, that are
largely imported.
In keeping with FAOSTAT, in 2021 (final obtainable knowledge), the
manufacturing of candy potatoes, cassava and plantains amounted to
near-average ranges of about 100 000 tonnes, 73 700 tonnes and
41 000 tonnes, respectively. Following general conducive climate
situations through the rising season, the manufacturing of those
crops is more likely to stay at near-average ranges in 2022.
