It applies to approximately 15,165 pounds of ready-to-eat mortadella deli meat products sold under the Mastro brand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The affected ready-to-eat mortadella deli meat products were produced on March 27, March 30 and April 4. Consumers can view the specific recalled products <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/recalls-alerts\/sofina-foods-inc--recalls-ready-eat-mortadella-deli-meat-products-due-misbranding\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>here<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Canadian company Sofina Foods recalled the products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the FSIS says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe product may contain pistachio (tree nuts), a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label,\u201d the mortadella recall states.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sofina told FSIS a customer discovered the problem when they saw a pistachio nut in the ready-to-eat regular mortadella deli meat product during slicing. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the meats so far, the company says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sofina is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throw away or return mortadella deli meat, recall says<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sofina Foods shipped the recalled items to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania for use in retail delis and foodservice locations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FSIS is concerned that some products may be in delis and foodservice locations\u2019 refrigerators and freezers, it says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDelis and foodservice locations are urged not to serve these products,\u201d the mortadella deli meat recall states. \u201cConsumers who have purchased these products and have an allergy to pistachios should not consume them.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FSIS says consumers should throw the products away or return them to the place of purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In other food news, Kroger <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/topclassactions.com\/es\/lawsuit-settlements\/consumer-products\/food\/cooking-at-home-trend-to-continue-into-2023-kroger-says\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>revealed<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in its 2023 Food Trends Report it expects the growing consumer trend of cooking at home to continue this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kroger <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/kroger-announces-food-trend-predictions-for-2023-301730496.html\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>says<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> consumers who cook at home are looking to make up for lost time during the pandemic by \u201centertaining and cooking at home together with their family and friends,\u201d according to a news release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Are you affected by this mortadella deli meat recall?
