<!-- content --><\/p>\n<p><strong>KANTUNILK\u00cdN, MX.-<\/strong> La tala furtiva y los incendios forestales han contribuido a extinguir la<strong> producci\u00f3n de chicle<\/strong> en el municipio de L\u00e1zaro C\u00e1rdenas, adem\u00e1s de que las personas que se dedican a esta actividad son ya adultos mayores, dijo <strong>Ceferino Cocom Ucan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los \u00faltimos productores de chicle en este municipio del norte, a sus 68 a\u00f1os de edad, lament\u00f3 que el desinter\u00e9s de los campesinos j\u00f3venes en esta actividad la tenga al borde de la sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\"\/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>Oriundo de la poblaci\u00f3n de San \u00c1ngel en donde vive, lament\u00f3 que otro de los factores que contribuyeron a que la producci\u00f3n se extinga fue la tala inmoderada del \u00e1rbol de chicozapote ya que, al ser madera dura, tiene un alto valor comercial para la edificaci\u00f3n de palapas rusticas espec\u00edficamente en Holbox en donde tiene mucha demanda por la actividad tur\u00edstica.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSolo quedan recuerdos de c\u00f3mo se realizaba esta actividad ya que, anteriormente, hab\u00eda campamentos chicleros, pas\u00e1bamos semanas en el monte para elaborar el chicle, cuando llegamos period para comercializar las barras del chicle.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" principal materia prima que es el \u00e1rbol de chicozapote\u201d, deplor\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Insisti\u00f3 en que la mejor \u00e9poca del llamado oro blanco, como le conoc\u00edan a la producci\u00f3n del chicle est\u00e1 en decadencia y resulta muy dif\u00edcil reactivarla, ya que los \u00e1rboles son escasos al igual que los productores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEs m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil cortar un \u00e1rbol de chicozapote de hasta 20 o 30 metros de altura para vender en Holbox, en lugar de conservarlo para la producci\u00f3n del chicle ya que no da\u00f1a al medio ambiente y, cada temporada da frutos de
