Observ\u00e9 su arquitectura victoriana, recordatorio del capital ingl\u00e9s que financi\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n de ferrocarriles del Valle Central al Pac\u00edfico y al Caribe y que origin\u00f3 la deuda externa costarricense. Sub\u00ed los escalones y entr\u00e9 al vest\u00edbulo. Pens\u00e9 que habr\u00eda alg\u00fan tren de mediod\u00eda a Heredia, donde pretend\u00eda almorzar con Marlene, mi hermana chilena. Pero en el caf\u00e9 del vest\u00edbulo apenas hab\u00eda cuatro personas: los dependientes de la misma cafeter\u00eda que no ten\u00edan nada que hacer sino aguardar a los pasajeros del final de la tarde. Las boleter\u00edas de la estaci\u00f3n estaban cerradas.
