Arthur Arbesser SS'25

During Milan Fashion Week fashion brand Arthur Arbesser presented its new Spring Summer 2025 collection, and it was a truly intriguing experience. The central question driving their work is: Why make more clothes? This reflection shapes the brand’s team approach, leading to collections that are thoughtfully crafted and deeply personal.

In this collection, hands play a significant role. Inspired by their intern Francesco’s expressive hands, the team transformed this idea into a striking print. They emphasize how much hands can convey—through creativity, gestures, and small acts of kindness, like giving a flower. This theme symbolizes our capacity to shape the world around us.

The collection features classic patterns like vichy and abstract herringbone, evoking a sense of warmth and nostalgia, perhaps reminiscent of familiar spaces like a kitchen. Yet, they’ve reinterpreted these designs using materials like transparent tulle and crinkly cotton muslin, giving them a contemporary edge.

Taffeta adds an elegant touch, seen in tiny summer tops, pleated column dresses, and voluminous skirts, all designed for comfort with elastic waistbands. The use of black and white pinstriped Japanese cotton provides a calm, linear contrast to the vibrant patterns, creating a balanced visual experience.

Another highlight is their creative repurposing of materials—old poker chips transformed into unique jewelry, and hats and shoes made from vintage curtain fabric. This playful experimentation showcases their commitment to creativity and sustainability.

Overall, the collection reflects a philosophy that values smallness and independence, allowing for a more meaningful approach to fashion. It’s a refreshing reminder that making clothes can be a beautiful, thoughtful process.
