Be careful with brands that promise excellent quality at a premium price, many times the price of some products do not correspond with the quality of them.
Dimension Turistica was prepared to perform a test with the Prometheus Humidors producer to verify the quality of its humidors and the associated customer service as a result of complaints received by consumers.

Different brands on the internet promise consumers a high level of quality at a premium price, the Prometheus brand promises according to its website the best quality since 1992, and together with its sister GOD OF FIRE INC. it also offers high quality tobacco to consumers.
According to its website, the brand’s products have an unparalleled quality, however, users who contacted our Editorial Team complained about what they consider false or misleading advertising as well as multiple abuses of the Prometheus International brand.
The complaints come from users who have made the mistake of believing in the advertising of the website, the most recurring are those who have acquired a humidifier of “high quality” wood and beautiful presentation, believing in what the website is being promoted.

Dimension Turistica made a purchase through a sister company of a travel humidor to verify the complaints of these clients and the lack of service they claimed. Unfortunately, the complaints appeared to be true.
The humidor came with a significant delay to our team, was delivered with scratches in its varnish, in a sub-optimum state for its price ($500 US Dollars). The humidification device also known as “Oasis” dripped black liquid after refiling it with distilled water that unfortunately damaged the wooden interior of the humidor, shortly after the wood began to disassemble, the varnish started to crack and the tight seal required for maintaining the humidity in the humidor was lost.
Our sister company contacted Customer Service with no result and after sending pictures and explanations, we had to ask our team to buy a new humidification device also known as “Oasis” as to maintain the humidity.
The humidor dissembling problem started to become more evident as days passed “We contacted Customer Service again and we were surprised when at the time of exchanging the pictures below with their customer service we were accused of having thrown the humidor to the floor or hitting it with a “hard object”, they said there was no explanation on why the wood had opened and the varnish cracked” the same excuse given to one of the clients who also had a similar problem.
We are not sure how you tarnished the wooden cigar holders with the black marks. Also, the crack on the corner of your travel humidor is caused by a shock from dropping the humidor or hitting a hard object. Both of these, which are caused by misuse, are not covered by our product warranty.
The mythical Prometheus History has lasted as a history of perseverance and aspiration. The first Greek traditions exposed by Hesíodo and Esquilo say that the heroic Prometheus stole the fire from the powerful Zeus to give it to humanity.
As you can appreciate, the company has created an elaborated story to sell a product at a higher price, the strategy apparently includes a series of statements in regards to construction and quality.

Prometheus came to the scene in 1992 to “challenge the old guard” of the manufacturers specialized in lighters and accessories. Prometheus ascended quickly in the distribution market becoming “one of the most important sources of elegant and quality cigars available” according to its website. However, history really begins years before with a Korean lighter company called KGM.
Keith Park’s family moved to the United States during the 1980s and continued to build the name of KGM. At the beginning of the 1990s, Park worked for the family business and helped launch a new line of lighters and high-end accessories under the name of Prometheus. While initial offers were limited in size and variety, they attracted enough interest in the Cigar industry to ensure that Prometheus maintained its market.
However, current management is not interested in the costumer experience nor in the quality of the product sold.
While limited edition humidors are very well marketed, Prometheus does not meet the quality described.
According to Prometheus advertising, the finish remains impeccable no matter where it goes, in our tests this was not the case, the reflective finish faded and was quickly scratched with the first uses. This finish does not tolerate any friction with any other material. The quality promised, especially at that price point, is simply lacking.

In our tests The Travel Humidor also had the same problem by damaging the interior of the humidor.
In our case, our team had to throw the test humidor to the garbage. In the case of the buyer that contacted us with the same problem it ended up sending it to fix it with a wood specialist at a very high price, problems also remained with the wood unbinding itself by the corners, this is clear as a result of the poor quality of its manufacturing process. The client stated that he communicated to the company to bring up a complaint obtaining the same answer as our team.
Our message to you is: Be careful when you purchase an expensive piece, expensive is not always better. If you are willing to spend 500 dollars on a product, make sure it will last more than a few months, check the reviews and make sure you have legal guarantees when buying.
