Cuatro pueblos de Colombia compiten por ser los mejores del mundo, ¿cuáles son? - Viajar - Vida

The beauty of Colombia is undeniable, from its stunning natural landscapes to its rich cultural heritage. But what truly sets this country apart is its charming pueblos, or small towns, which offer a glimpse into the essence of Colombia’s culture and people. Recently, four pueblos in Colombia have been competing for the title of “best pueblo in the world”, and each one offers a unique experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression on any traveler.

First up is the charming town of Jardín, located in the Antioquia department. This town is known for its vibrant color scheme, with brightly painted houses and buildings lining its streets. Visitors can take a stroll along the town’s central square, which is adorned with a large fountain and surrounded by shops and cafes. For a truly unique experience, take a ride on the town’s cable car, which offers breathtaking views of the lush green hills that surround Jardín.

Next, we have the town of Barichara, located in the Santander department. This town is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, with white-washed buildings and red-tiled roofs dotting its landscape. Visitors can take a walk along the town’s cobblestone streets, admiring the intricate stone carvings that adorn many of its buildings. For a truly unforgettable experience, take a hike along the Camino Real, a historic trail that connects Barichara to the nearby town of Guane.

Third on our list is the town of Villa de Leyva, located in the Boyacá department. This town is known for its expansive central square, which is one of the largest in South America. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along its cobblestone streets, admiring the beautiful colonial architecture that surrounds them. For an elevated view of the town and its surroundings, climb up to the top of the nearby Iguaque National Park.

Last but not least, we have the town of Mompox, located in the Bolívar department. This town is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, which has earned it a spot on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Visitors can take a walk along the town’s picturesque riverfront, or visit some of its many historic churches and museums. For a truly unique experience, take a boat tour along the Magdalena River, which passes through Mompox and offers stunning views of its surroundings.

Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or simply seeking a quiet retreat, Colombia’s pueblos have something to offer everyone. So why not take a trip off the beaten path and explore some of the country’s hidden gems? With so many incredible pueblos to choose from, you’re sure to find one that captures your heart and leaves you longing to come back for more.
